Nigerian Afrobeat artist Davido has offered some business guidance to American rapper Kanye West following the latter’s public criticism of Adidas on social media.
Recall, Adidas terminated its collaboration with the once-billionaire rapper in 2022 following a string of antisemitic remarks. Despite severing ties with the renowned artist, Adidas has been liquidating its remaining Yeezy inventory.
Kanye West took to Instagram on Monday to express his discontent with the brand, accusing them of selling a Yeezy design without his approval and exploiting his loyal fan base.
He mentioned that Adidas failed to compensate him with royalties for the sneakers they sold last year and continued to pursue a $250 million lawsuit against him, despite allegations of producing counterfeit Yeezys and distributing them to his supporters.
“Anybody who loves Ye would not buy these fake Yeezys I never made these colorways I’m not getting paid off of them and Adidas is suing me. “All the new non-approved 350s are corny and everybody knows the 350 been corny.”
He shared a video on Instagram to explain his conflict with Adidas, saying:
“Not only are they putting out fake colorways that are non-approved, they’re suing me for $250 million and they’re also not paying me for these shoes that they’re putting out that have my name on it”.

In a subsequent post, Kanye West expressed gratitude to his supporters, including his colleague Snoop Dogg, acknowledging that their perspectives are being acknowledged and valued.
He wrote; “Thank you everybody for supporting me on this fight with adidas Thank you Snoop and thank you to all my fans Your words are making a difference right now.”
Davido took to his Instagram story to offer Kanye West some advice, suggesting that he consider collaborating with Puma instead.
He wrote; “Come to @puma Ye”.
