April 10, 2024, marked a somber chapter for Nollywood as actor Junior Pope, along with four other crew members, met a watery grave in Anam River, Anambra. Their ill-fated boat capsized while returning from a movie shoot, plunging the industry into mourning.
Just days after the heart-wrenching tragedy, Zubby took to his Instagram page to post a video of himself seemingly kicking back and chilling.

Many questioned why he hadn’t publicly mourned Jnr Pope online, despite their close relationship and Zubby’s role as the late actor’s best man at his wedding.
