The Lagos State Police State Commissioner of Police, Idowu Owohunwa, has said Naira Marley and Sam Larry denied complicity in the death of singer, Mohbad.
Owohunwa revealed this information when providing an update on the singer’s passing, stating that both Marley and Larry were overseas at the time of Mohbad’s death.
The CP, however, affirmed that Sam Larry subjected Mohbad to physical assault before his de@th.
He said: “There are evidence that Naira Marley and Sam Larry have nothing to do with Mohbad’s death. Documentary evidence shows that both Naira Marley and Sam Larry were not in the country during the singer’s death.
“However, there are electronic evidence that Sam Larry bullied the singer, this he admitted.
“Sam Larry admitted to physically a$s@ulting Mohbad over the two million naira the singer collected for his mother’s burial but failed to perform during the event.”
Also, Owohunwa disclosed that the police had identified a total of 26 witnesses.
During the press briefing on Friday, October 10, the commissioner of police in Lagos state, said that the injection administered on Mohbad by an auxiliary nurse, Feyisayo Ogedengbe, who treated him on Tuesday, September 12, led to his death.
Recall Sam Larry had explained that his brawl with Mohbad was over N2 million owed him by the late singer.
This was after he came under fire on social media following a video of him and some people harassing late singer, Mohbad surfacing on social media.
While alive, Mohbad had alleged that he was assaulted by Naira Marley after he demanded a change of manager.
