Tony, Monagor’s cousin, posted a health update on Facebook, revealing that Monagor is currently facing challenges related to kidney disease, diabetes, and a stroke.

Recall few weeks ago, GbExtra Blog reported that 61-year-old Amaechi Monagor in a video while on a hospital bed begs for financial support as he disclosed that he is battling with paralysis.

The cousin, Tony in the post wrote; “This picture was taken two weeks ago when I visited my cousin Amaechi Monagor (Aguiyi) at the Nnewi Teaching Hospital. I initially had wanted to quietly assist as much as I could but later decided to make this post to clarify some things so that my friends, fans, and Amaechi’s fans, and indeed the online community can be better informed.

“Amaechi is currently down with kidney disease, diabetes, and stroke. He had been managing his diabetes over the years and living his life. He is presently undergoing weekly dialysis and other treatments at the Nnamdi Azikiwe University Teaching Hospital Nnewi.

“His family had been shouldering the costs for years, until the recent stroke made his case more serious and indeed more expensive to battle alone, hence the publicity. Within the limits of my capabilities, I have done and am still doing my best to assist as much as I can, even reaching out to well-meaning individuals who are donating to this cause.

“Contrary to most online publications, Amaechi is my first cousin. His father and my father are of the same father. We have had a wonderful relationship as members of the same industry, and I am proud of him as a ‘brother.’ Amaechi is so loved worldwide, and his fans, friends, and ndi Obosi have been wonderful so far. Many groups have been donating money for his hospital bills.

“As of today, there’s some improvement. His blood sugar is under control, but he is still on admission, weekly dialysis, physiotherapy, and other treatments. His full treatments and recovery require sustained funding or donations. No amount is too small.”

fancyb_store: Only for him alone 😢……May God heal him whole fully.

benybentz: Don’t waste your money. He won’t survive it… I watched this deadly disease called diabetes eat my dad piece by piece for so many years until it finally turned him into a vegetable before he gave up. Don’t reply to my comment if you don’t understand or if you’ve not witnessed something like that before. My opinion is based on experience. May God accept his soul Amen.

airhiz007: Dear Nigerians, Please eat healthy and reduce your sodium intake ( salt, Maggi ) stop abusing painkillers and all sort of self medication, maintain a good healthy life style, stop smoking if possible, avoid alot of processed food and don’t joke with your blood pressure observation, drink enough water and reduce your sugar intake. It’s not a good idea to depend on this government or any private hospital at the moment, the cost of medication and other medical needs is unaffordable at the moment, you can’t stand the consequences of living a reckless life in Nigeria. Make sure you go for walks or jogging, learn about genetic illness too as this will help you avoid certain health issues in your lineage. I pray God gives you the wisdom you need to be consistent in this race. God bless 🙏.

e.m.i_bla: There is something about the Nollywood actors. I feel they indulge in excessive lifestyles and others…so many of them fall ill to kidney disease, diabetes and so on. I pray for his quick recovery.

samchidi: Diabetes hardly walks alone. If you are young and these ailments have a presence in your familial history, then do yourself a favor and pay close attention to your lifestyle. At least if you don’t alter the pattern in your life, you can delay its emergence.

richkid_panda: My grand Pa had same stroke attack two months back now he can’t even recognise my face not even my name 😢 . May God see him through 🙏🏾.
