Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) is a para-military agency of the Government of the Federal Republic of Nigeria that is commissioned to provide measures against threat and any form of attack or disaster against the nation and its citizenry.

Civil defence salary structure is based on the Consolidated Naval Salary Structure (CONNESS) introduced in 2017. The salary structure is divided into two categories; they are non-commission officers and commission officers.

The average salary for a graduate in Civil Defence , which is a level 8 officer, is ₦88,035 per month.

Nigeria Civil Defence Ranks for Commissioned officers

These sets of officers are in charge and control of the decision-making, they are above and given directly to the non-commission officers. You must have graduated from an accredited polytechnic or university with a second-class lower degree or lower credit. They are thought to be in command of the leadership.

The non-commissioned officers are as follows:

  • Deputy Commandant of Corps (DCC).
  • Commandant of Corps (CC).
  • Assistant Commandant General of Corps (ACG).
  • Deputy Commandant General of Corps (DCG).
  • Commandant General of Corps (CG).

Nigerian Civil Defence Ranks for Non – Commissioned officers.

Non-commission officers are junior officers of the Nigerian Civil Defence. They are primarily personnel recruited using secondary school certificates and have completed the mandated training program.

  • Assistant Cadet Inspector (ACI).
  • Cadet Inspector (CI).
  • Assistant Superintendent of Corps II (ASCI).
  • Assistant Superintendent of Corps I (ASCI).
  • Deputy Superintendent of Corps (DSC).
  • Superintendent of Corps (SC)
  • Chief Superintendent of Corps (CSC).
  • Assistant Commandant of Corps (ACC).

The salary structure for Civil Defence officers is determined by an individual’s qualifications and years of service.

  • If the individual is a medical doctor, he is placed on level 12.
  • A master’s degree holder is placed on level 9.
  • A lawyer, on the other hand, is placed on level 9.
  • If the individual is a graduate, he is placed at Level 8.
  • An HND holder, on the other hand, is placed on Level 7.
