Early Life
Nigerian talented singer and songwriter, Mohbad whose real name is Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Abraham Aloba was born on 8th June 1996 into the family of Mr Joseph Oladimeji Aloba and Mrs Abosede Aloba. He was born on the 8th of June, 1996 in Ketu, Lagos State.

Career
Mohbad‘s passion for music can be traced back to his secondary school days when he was one of the leading creative students. He was known for performing freestyle rap songs during lunch breaks and at school parties.
He would bring out his notepad and compose rap verses and songs in his leisure time. He would then perform these songs to the admiration of his close friends, who kept on encouraging him. Mohbad’s father, Mr Joseph Aloba who is also a musician influence his musical career.
However, in 2016, he decided to pursue a professional music career. Having improved his songwriting, singing and rap skills over the tears, he decided to give music a shot. This was the period where the stage name, Mohbad was born.

This move also helped him secure a big break in the industry as he began to receive collaboration requests from A-list and rising artists in the industry. Mohbad struck gold in December 2019 after he was signed to the newly founded Marlian Music Records by Naira Marley.
Since he came onto the big stage, Mohbad has worked with a host of artists ranging from Oladips, Rexxie, Chike, Bella Shmurda, Lil Frosh, C Blvck, Zinoleesky, to Naira Marley.

The singer Mohbad resided in a serviced apartment building in Lekki Lagos. He was the proud owner of two exotic cars, which can be found in his garage. He was also known by the moniker Oba Imole.

Music lovers and fans was left devastated after the news about Mohbad death broke out, Sensational musician, Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, better known as Mohbad, has tragically passed away.
Reports from entertainment journalist Ovie on X (formerly Twitter) indicate that the 27-year-old Nigerian rapper, singer, and songwriter, passed away on Tuesday, September 12, 2023.

Mohbad was buried in Ikorodu, Lagos State by his father, Mr Joseph Aloba less than 24 hours after his tragic death. Mohbad died on 12 September 2023.
Mohbad Cause of Death
The autopsy conducted on the body of late Nigerian singer, Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad has revealed the possible cause of his death.
The result of the autopsy conducted at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH) was reportedly obtained on Thursday.
According to the report, samples of the gastric content, blood, bone marrow, liver, kidney, and lung of the late singer were retrieved for a toxicology test.
The anatomical and pathological findings revealed that Mohbad had an injury on his right forearm and his body was exhumed with moderate to severe decomposition.
The Mohbad autopsy result also showed that “no significant gross finding” could be attributed to the singer’s death.
The toxicology “revealed the positive finding of Diphenhydramine, an anti-histamine; however, this concentration was not in a fatal or lethal range”.
Anti-histamines are medicines used to treat symptoms of allergies. They are also used to treat a variety of other conditions such as stomach problems, colds, and anxiety, among others.
The report said the cause of death could not be ascertained. It, however, added that there is a possibility of drug reaction in view of any significant post-mortem and toxicology findings.

“In determining fatal anaphylactic shock, blood sample needs to be taken as quickly as possible.
“Unfortunately, this was prevented or made impossible by the burial of the deceased on the second day. In the light of the foregoing, cause of death could not be ascertained.

Mohbad NDLEA arrest
In February 2022, the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) arrested Mohbad, Zinoleesky and four other people following their possession of illegal substances like MDMA and cannabis at their home in Lekki, Lagos.
Some Viral videos on social media showed NDLEA operatives breaking into the musicians’ home in the Lekki district of Lagos State in the early hours of Thursday morning.
According to witnesses, the officials carried out the arrest without any search warrants and mistreated the Marlian singers. The NDLEA officers were seen hitting the musician with clubs and shooting into the air, forcing them into waiting trucks.
NDLEA confirmed the raid, “our men raided an area in Idado estate where Naira Marley’s boys stay.” Quantities of cannabis and molly were recovered from their apartment and car,” he told TheCable Lifestyle. Later, the NDLEA released Mohbad, Zinoleesky and 4 other and three others.
Controversy
On 5th of September, 2022, Mohbad alleged that he was assaulted by members of his record label, Marlian Music, for requesting to change his manager.
In a tweet with a video clip, Mohbad was seen with a bruise on his shoulder, while voices could be heard in the background of another video stating he was overpowered and abused in the sight of label owner Naira Marley, who did not interfere.
The tweet was captioned, “Just because I want to change my manager which is their brother, see what they did to me at Marlian House”.
Mohbad Naira Marley rift and Marlian Music exit
The late Mohbad’s management announced his exit from the record label on Tuesday, October 25, as his legal team released a statement asserting that Mohbad’s exit was as a result of the constant attacks he received, which were orchestrated by Naira Marley, and unpaid royalties since 2019.
The “KPK” crooner’s exit comes weeks after he took to Twitter on October 5, to reveal bloodied bodies, claiming that it was as a result of being assaulted by the Marlian crew, because he requested to have his manager changed.
“Just because I want to change my manager who is their brother, see what they did to me at Marlian House,” he had tweeted, saying “World pls help me oo I’m dying inside.”
Revealing that he was at the hospital for a CT Scan for head impact and chest X-ray as a result of the assault, he added “I’m not high oo cos that is what dey always say just to die down everything.”
Mohbad accused Naira Marley of being present during the assault and doing nothing to stop it.
The artiste also accused Marlian Music record label of refusing to pay him his royalties from monetised intellectual content and advances as mutually agreed since 2019.
“In contravention of the terms of the arrangement between our client and yourself, you have failed to pay any advances as mutually agreed by both parties since 2019 till date.
“You have also failed to pay all royalties due our client from all his intellectual property works monetized, released and utilised by you from 2019 till date,” the document read.
