Controversial Nollywood actor and accomplished filmmaker, Yul Edochie has stirred mixed reactions online with his bold announcement of establishing his own church.
Before unveiling the significant news, speculations ran wild as the movie star dropped a teaser on Tuesday morning, hinting at an upcoming event in his life.
Later in the day, on Tuesday, January 23, the filmmaker declared that he would be making the most substantial announcement of his life.
He wrote; “I’M ABOUT TO MAKE THE BIGGEST ANNOUNCEMENT OF MY LIFE TODAY AT 2 PM.”
In a subsequent post, Yul Edochie took to his social media platforms to disclose that the highly awaited revelation was, indeed, the grand introduction of his new church, scheduled for its debut on YouTube.
The actor, known for his outspoken devotion to serving God, declared in his caption that the time had come to answer the call of the Almighty.
According to him, the moment has come for him to fully immerse himself in God’s work, disseminating the genuine message of faith.
In his words; “It’s time to answer the call of God Almighty. It’s time to do His work fully. To spread the true message of God. Tune in, and be transformed.”

Recall in 2022, Yul, via his YouTube page, revealed he had a calling to become a minister of God “many years ago” but felt it was not the right time.
Edochie said the calling has become strong in recent times. The actor added that he has realised that God made him successful so he can use the fame to promote the gospel and touch lives.
The movie star also said he believes God gave him a second chance to live and preach the gospel after he “miraculously” escaped death in a “ghastly auto crash” in 2019.
