The presidential candidate of the Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Ahmed Tinubu, speaks on maintaining order following the loss of Lagos State to Peter Obi.
This comes after the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared Peter Obi, the candidate of the Labour Party (LP), as the winner of the presidential election in Lagos state.
In reaction to violence in some parts of the state, Bola Tinubu urges Lagosians to maintain civility and avoid v!olence of any form.
“The fact that the APC narrowly lost Lagos State to another party should not be the reason for violence. As a democrat, you win some, you lose some. We must allow the process to continue unhindered across the country while we maintain peace and decorum,” he stated
Obi polled 582,454 votes to defeat Tinubu in Lagos State as the APC presidential candidate got 572,606 votes.
Tinubu won in 11 local governments while Obi led in nine, while the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, came third with 75,750 votes.
The result sent a wave of sh0ck across the country as Tinubu has maintained firm control of Lagos since the return of democracy in 1999. There was v!olence in some parts of Lagos as hoodlums att@cked some traders.
