Popular Nigerian singer Brymo has triggered mixed reactions online as he makes a controversial statement where he describes Wizkid, Davido, and Burnaboy as thieves.
He made this statement during an exclusive interview with a correspondent from TVC News.
He criticized fellow singer Burna Boy, claiming that he is cheap, a thief, unoriginal, and fake.
He was asked about the alleged tussle between Rema and Burna Boy, and in response, he said: “I saw a video where he said he was the Jesus of Afrobeat and he put Davido and Wizkid on some other mountain like that.
I think he is sleazy, he is cheap, he is a thief, very unoriginal, very fake. Every song is a sample or a stolen slogan. Who does that?
Afrobeat is a music style, not a genre. Fela started the genre and it is disrespectful that a new generation of musicians came and just added ‘S’ to create another center of number one. Wizkid is the first, Davido, Burna Boy, nah nah, they all are thieves.
I think its a very big problem that we have, even in black American music. First it was hip-hop, then it became rap, then it became trap. We just show up and try to remake what our older brother did; there should be continuity.”

It is true that if you examine him, Asa, beautiful Nubia, and their likes, they are not receiving the recognition they deserve. ogievaseth: This is a philosophical position that not many will understand. The westernization and globalisation of art and the way it erodes culture and heritage. One can be for it (progressive) or be against it (fundamental). I am progressive and I love Burna boy, but I can also understand Brymo’s perspective.

Be original Fela never sampled someone’s songs even in his death he was nominated countless times so it’s obvious the Grammy is some shady stuff cus I don’t see why passenger never won one ?
