In a recent statement, Jada Pinkett, the wife of Popular US actor Will Smith confirms to all and sundry that she has been separated from her husband since 2016.
Jada Pinkett affirmed this during an exclusive interview with NBC News while responding to a question from the interviewer about her newly released book known as “Worthy”.
According to Pinkett, she and Will Smith were separated seven years ago as they have been living completely separate lives.
Speaking further, Jada Pinkett utters that it was not a divorce on paper but it was a divorce as they have been apart since 2016.
The artiste said they are no longer together however, in public eye they’ve been keeping up the image of a happy married couple.
The pair have been married since 1997 and share a son Jaden and a daughter Willow. The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air star also has a son Trey, 30, whom he shares with his first wife, Sheree Zampino. As for her children, Jada praised them for how they’ve helped her grow.
At the 2022 Oscars, there was a notable incident involving Will Smith and Chris Rock. During the ceremony, Chris Rock made a joke about Will Smith’s wife, Jada Pinkett Smith, referencing her shaved head. This comment seemed to have upset Will Smith, who then slapped Chris Rock on stage.
Will Smith has apologized for surprising comedian Chris Rock with a hard punch live on stage at the Oscars award but has been banned from the Oscars gala and other Academy events for 10 years after the US actor slapped comic Chris Rock.
