Popular Nigerian crossdresser Idris Okueneye Olanrewaju known as Bobrisky has stirred emotional reactions online following a new video that shows his arrival at the court.

Bobrisky, has arrived the Federal High Court sitting in Ikoyi, Lagos for his arraignment by the EFCC today April 5.

He was driven to the Federal High Court premises in Ikoyi, Lagos, around 9am in a white Hiace Toyota bus by EFCC operatives under armed police escorts.

Bobrisky is expected to be docked by the anti-graft agency on allegations bothering on money laundering and abuse of Naira.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Thursday filed a six-count charge against Idris Olanrewaju Okuneye popularly known as Bobrisky.

While the first four counts of the charge border on abuse of the Naira, the last two counts border on alleged money laundering.

Bobrisky in Court

Note that Bobrisky was arrested on Wednesday night and detained, however was freed yesterday Thursday before he was charged to court on Friday by EFCC over money laundering.

Reports also disclosed that Bobrisky was kept in separate cell as EFCC arraigns him over alleged N180.7m money laundering and abuse of N490,000 today.

His case was listed as No. 10 on the court’s docket, presided over by Justice Abimbola Awogboro, who is handling multiple cases today.

After a thorough examination of the case’s details, Justice Abimbola Awogboro found Bobrisky guilty of the charges brought against him.

During his allocutus (statement before sentencing), Bobrisky informed the court that he was unaware of the laws prohibiting the abuse of the Naira.

He described himself as a social media influencer with a substantial following of over five million people.

The judge then told him that ignorance of the law was not an excuse.

He said, “I know, My Lord. My Lord, I wish that you could give me a second chance to use my platform to inform and educate my followers about spraying money.

“I would do a video on my page and I will educate people about spraying money. I will not repeat it again. I regret my actions.”
