TYPES OF BRIGHT FUTURE SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAMS

1. FLORIDA ACADEMIC SCHOLARS (FAS)

This is the most competitive and important Bright Futures Scholarship. Florida Academic Scholar (FAS) beneficiaries might get support for a limit of 120 semester hours toward the completion of a first baccalaureate degree for as long as five years after high school graduation.

BRIGHT FUTURES SCHOLARSHIP AMOUNT AMOUNTS

  1. The Florida Academic Scholars Award is $212.28 per credit hour.
  2. The Academic Top Scholars Award is $44 per credit hour.
  3. The Florida Medallion Scholars Award is $159.21 per credit hour.

BRIGHT FUTURES SCHOLARSHIP REQUIREMENTS 2023

  • Bright Futures requires a minimum GPA of 3.0 in non-elective high school courses.
  • Enroll in a single career and technical education program for at least three credits.
  • A minimum unweighted GPA of 3.5 in career education courses is required.
  • Complete at least 30 hours of community service.
  • Must obtain the required minimum scores in one of the following tests:

NOTE: To be qualified for the Bright Futures Scholarship, you should choose “University of Central Florida” as your post-secondary institution on the Initial Student Florida Financial Aid Application (FFAA).

In the event that you have picked another university on the FFAA and want to go to UCF, you must change your institution name choice to “UCF.”

DEADLINE
