Reality TV star, Phyna has dragged established Nigerian female singers for not helping any of the up-and-coming female artistes.
The winner of Big Brother Naija 2022 stated that she has never seen any of the top songstresses uplifting their younger colleagues like the male counterparts do.
Phyna was speaking during an interview with actress, Susan Pwajok on Glitch Africa Studio’s Surviving Lagos Podcast.
She made reference to how a popular male artiste can pick up an unknown talent and give him the opportunity to be a star, whereas she does not see that happen with the women.
The native of Edo state, however, agreed with Susan that it could also be as a result of fear that the women have for each other.
She said some of the respectable singers may be scared that when they help an upcoming female, she may start disrespecting her or making ridiculous gossip.
In her words, “The way Nigeria top male artistes feature upcoming artiste, the top female artistes are not doing it. I’ve not seen a top female artiste pick up another upcoming female artiste up before.”
