Afrobeats songstress, Temilade Openiyi, popularly known as Tems, says she is a British national only on paper as she is mostly Nigerian.
The ‘Crazy Tings’ singer said she mostly grew up in Nigeria and she derives her inspiration from songs she listened to during her childhood.
The Grammy award winner, Tems stated this during an interview on Jazzys World TV when she was asked if her English origin has an influence on the kind of music she releases.
“I mostly grew up in Nigeria, so I’m mostly Nigerian. I am only British on paper,” she said.
