Veteran Nigerian rapper Eedris Abdulkareem in a recent statement blasts Grammy Award winner Burna Boy fo saying no one helped his music career in Nigeria.
Eedris Adbdulkareem, the “Jaga Jaga” hitmaker who successfully undergoes a kidney transplant goes hard on his junior colleague while featuring as a guest on the audio-visual podcast known as “The Honest Bunch.”
According to rapper Eedris Abdulkareem, it is a stupid talk from Burna Boy to say that no one helped or paved the way for him in the Nigeria music industry.
Recall that Afroebats legend, Fela Anikulapo Kuti is well known for putting the music genre on the global scale before he passed away.
Several years after, Nigeria as a country was gifted with the likes of artistes including, 2Baba, Eedris Abdulkarrem, P-Square (Peter and Paul Okoye), D’Banj, Naeto C, MI Abaga, Don Jazzy, Iyanya, Wizkid, Davido and others who worked so hard in putting the country name on the world map before Burna Boy breaks into prominence.
After becoming an established artiste in the Nigerian music industry and global scale, Burna Boy trends online for berating the Nigerian music industry while adding that the country’s fan bases are delusional.
In January 2023, Burna Boy becomes one of the most talked about as he asserts that if not for Seyi Vibez, he would not have perform at his Lagos concert.
Also, in his song dubbed “Thanks” where he featured J.Cole, Burna Boy blasts Nigerians as he said that he was not appreciated enough by Nigerians.
The lyrics read; “Is this the motherfucking thanks I get for making my people proud every chance I get?.”
He also stressed that he is not among the Afrobeats artistes while he averred that his own genre is “Afro fission.”
All these did not go down well with rapper Eedris Abdulkareem who wasted no time in dragging the “Last Last” crooner.
In his words; “You hear someone like Burna Boy say no one helped him in Nigeria. That’s stupid talk.”
