Popular Afrobeats singer David Adeleke known as Davido has attacked the paternal figure of music producer Napji after calling him out over unpaid royalties.
On April 23rd, 2024, Napji made this known on his Instagram, accusing the renowned ‘unavailable’ hit maker of withholding payment for his contributions to the smash hits “Fem,” “Jowo,” and “Sunlight” from the 2020 album “A Better Time.”
According to Napji’s claim, he asserts that he was only given an advance of N500k for each song, totaling N1.5 million.
However, Napji demanded royalties and publishing rights, directing his demand to Davido as he tagged him on the photo and video-sharing app.
He wrote; “I am Napji, producer behind Fem, Jowo and sunlight on @davido album (A better time).Which was released 13th November 2020.”
“I was paid an advance of 500 thousand naira for each of the songs. I will be releasing more information as I seek to collect my royalties & publishing”.

Upon sighting the call-out post by music producer Napji. Davido took to his verified Instagram page and Twitter to react. Davido reacted by saying “Ur Papa”.
