23-year-old Nigerian singer, Divine Ikubor, popularly known as Rema has warmed hearts of his teachers and fans during his recent visit to his former school in Edo state.
It can be recalled that the ‘Calm down’ hit maker made a grand first-time visit to his hometown, Benin City, Edo state, six years after he left the ancient town for greener pastures.
He, however, made a brief detour to his former school where he had his Secondary education and met with some of his old teachers there.
Rema caused buzz moment he called out his former school teacher, ‘uncle Esosa’, stating his massive contribution to his music breakthrough while he was still a student.
In a trending video, the music star was seen speaking to his teachers who gathered round to see their former student who has now become a world-renowned singer.
According to Rema, Uncle Esosa used to help him escape school so that he can go to the studio and do his music. The singer admitted that what the teacher did for him was illegal, but he somewhat helped him become who he is today.
