Singer Davido set to headline UnitedMasters Grammy Weekend Concert amid latest scandal and petition

In the midst of the recent controversy involving Nigerian music sensation David Adeleke, widely recognized as Davido, is set to take center stage at the highly anticipated UnitedMasters Grammy Weekend Concert.

UnitedMasters, the music platform, is set to organize a Grammy weekend ahead of the 66th Academy Grammy Awards scheduled for Sunday, February 4th at Crypto Com Arena in Los Angeles.

Headlining this esteemed event will be Davido, sharing the stage with Dominican rapper Tokischa and South Africa-based DJ Artist Uncle Waffles.

The concert is slated to take place at Hollywood Palladium on Friday, February 2nd, 2024.

The concert held last year attracted an audience of over 2,500 individuals, featuring notable figures such as Jay Z and Beyonce, Nas, DJ Khaled, Wiz Khalifa, Future, Damson Idris, and more.

Davido’s prominence has surged following the launch of his comeback album, “Timeless,” which has garnered over a billion streams.

This new release has significantly elevated the singer’s status, resulting in a Grammy nomination. “Timeless” has secured three nominations at the 2024 Grammys, competing in the categories of Best Album of the Year, Song of the Year, and Best Global Music Album.

Davido had earlier made a statement on how he always pray to win Grammy.

During his recent interview, he said: “Everybody knows what one of my prayer points is now. I have been nominated for three Grammys. So, everybody knows what I am praying for every day I wake up.”

Davido will compete for Best Global Music Performance alongside Burna Boy, Arooj Aftab, Silvana Estrada, Béla Fleck, Falu, and Gaurav Shah.

In addition, he would face off against Bokante, Susana Baca, Burna Boy, and Shakti for the Best Global Music Album title.

He is up against well-known performers in the Best African Music Performance category, including Tyla from South Africa, Asake, Ayra Starr, and Burna Boy.
