Rising Nigerian singer Boypee has denied reports that he and his collaborators, Brown Joel and Hyce, took down the video of the remix of their hit song “Ogechi” with Davido due to the DMW boss’s alleged greed.
According to Intel Region, the official video for “Ogechi Remix,” which was the wedding song for Afrobeats superstar Davido and his wife, Chioma, was recently removed from YouTube over copyright issues.
After the video, which was uploaded on Davido’s record label DMW’s YouTube page, was taken down, an X user with the handle @Johnnyescoba shared a report attributed to Boypee.
The report claimed that the video was removed because Davido wanted to take all the royalties from the views.
The X user wrote, ‘We had to take down the Ogechi Remix video cuz Davido wanted to take all the royalties. – Boypee in a recent interview.”
Quoting the post, Boypee debunked the claims, saying, “You and who talk that one ? To what profit eh guy? Wetin you wan use my downfall do?”.
