On June 23, 2023. The Kaduna Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) secured the conviction of Shallipopi and five others before Justice A.A Isiaka for impersonating foreign nationals and using false identities to defraud unsuspecting victims (Yahoo Yahoo).
Shallipopi with the five others pleaded guilty to the charges preferred against them, they were convicted and sentenced to two years imprisonment each with the option of fines.
According to reports, he paid the fine and was released. He then went ahead to make a song relating to the the event and he named it “Ex-Convict.”
