#RIPAKA: Burnaboy releases a song as he pays tribute to late South African rapper A.K.A (LISTEN)

Popular Nigerian singer, Damini Ebunoluwa Ogulu professionally known as Burnaboy has releases a song as a way to pay tribute to late South African rapper A.K.A.

Recall that South African rapper Kiernan Jarryd Forbes, also known as AKA, was shot and killed on Friday night February 10th, 2023 in Durban.

AKA was the target of a drive-by shooting that took place outside the Wish Restaurant on Florida Road. The rapper was planning to celebrate his birthday at the YUGO nightclub in Stamford Hill that evening.

AKA however will be laid to rest in a private provincial funeral on Saturday, February 18 and his memorial service will take place on Friday, February 17 at the Sandton Convention Centre at 3pm.

Reacting to AKA’s dead, Burna Boy expresses hit utmost displeasure over his death and by extension pays a tribute to him with a song.

Burnaboy wrote, “RIP AKA.” The song lyrics goes, “WTF is all of that about/ I just heard he died, seen that video at that restaurant/

Took me out of a positive mood/

Took me back to that day when you saw my and you said I was wild/ Then I told you you should

have one too/ And I ain’t really fvvck wit you/

Cuz it weren’t like niggaz wasn’t dying but I thought you knew/

But I didn’t want you dead, it was like that with me and you/ Wicked!/

I hope they catch whoever did you wicked/ I hope you rest in peace, even though we ain’t kick it/ At the end of the day we some grown ass niggaz.”
