The autopsy carried out on the corpse of Ifeanyi Adeleke, son of superstar singer Davido and his fiancée, Chioma Rowland, has confirmed that he drowned.
Confirming the development on Saturday in a chat with PUNCH, Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin disclosed that the autopsy shows that the infant died as a result of drowning.
Source had told Punch; “Though the family members are not saying anything yet because they are still in sh0ck but until anybody says stop, the standard procedure is to conduct an autopsy and we are going to follow that procedure just like in any case of de@th.”
Lagos State Police Command spokesperson, Benjamin Hundeyin, has now shared the autopsy result.
Speaking to a Punch correspondent on Saturday, November 5, Hundeyin said; “Autopsy has been concluded. It confirms the boy (Ifeanyi) drowned.”
Speaking on Eniola Badmus’ rumored arrest, Benjamin Hundeyin told BBC Pidgin that Actress was not arrested. “The story is false, nothing like that happened,” Hundeyin said.
Rumours about Eniola’s arrest started speculating in the early hours of Saturday. Several blogs claimed that the actress called Ifeanyi’s nanny on phone to distract her from noticing the boy had left the room for the swimming pool.
Eniola Badmus was one of the first celebrities that announced the death of Ifeanyi in a cryptic message.
Moments after her post, Nigerians stormed the comment section, accusing her of using the boy’s death as a means of gaining more popularity. Others opined that it was insensitive to announce the death of a child before confirmation from the parents.
With things spiralling out of control, Eniola was forced to delete the post on Instagram and Facebook.
