Popular Senegalese-American singer, Akon recently stirs mixed reactions as he weighed in on the controversial Old Cat Vs New Cat saga involving Davido and Burnaboy.
While speaking in a recent interview, 50-year-old Akon who rose to prominence in 2004 following the release of the song, “Locked Up” said Davido is a bigger artiste than Burna Boy.
Recall that Davido, the ‘Unavailable” hitmaker bodly said Burnaboy is a new cat when it comes to Afrobeats.
He asserts that Burnaboy belongs to the level of Asake, Mayorkun, Rema, Fireboy adding that him and Wizkid paved way for the global recognition of Afrobeats.
When Akon was asked to choose the better artiste between Davido and Burnaboy, Akon responded by choosing Davido over Burnaboy.
According to Akon, Davido is a musical beast that is far better than Burnaboy adding that the “Unavailable” crooner deserves more flowers than he has received.
