Fast-rising Nigerian Afrobeats singer, Seyi Vibes has taken to social media to address claims that his style is similar to his colleague, Asake.
In recent weeks, both artistes have been releasing tracks which receive massive airplay in the country, but one thing that got fans talking is the similarity in tune and melody.
Seyi, who seems to have gotten tired of the comparison said he did not copy anybody’s style and his only inspiration is late Afrobeats legend, Fela Kuti.
The ”Billion Dollar Baby” singer explained that none of the new generation afrobeats singers inspired his sound.
Seyi Vibes, in a post on his Instagram story said his backup choir taps their inspiration from the late Fela Anikulapo-Kuti and no one else.
He wrote; ”My choir backup is inspired by -FELA KUTI. I repeat FELA KUTI !!! None of the Musicians in my league inspired my Sound. Only the OG’s did.”
