Nigerian Police give latest update as regards Mohbad autopsy report

The Nigerian Police – Lagos State Chapter have shed more light on the spicy speculation surrounding the release of Mohbad’s autopsy result.

The Lagos State Police Command has confirmed that they have not yet received the official autopsy report for the late singer Mohbad, whose death has been a source of controversy.

As of Tuesday, November 21, 2023, it has been two months since the late Mohbad’s body was exhumed for autopsy/Toxicology.

Recall GbExtra Blog reported that 27-year-old Mohbad who was formerly signed under Naira Marley died on September 12, 2023 and was buried on September 13th.

As part of justice for Mohbad, the Lagos state government mandated a coroner’s inquest into the demise of the singer.

As the investigation into the autopsy proceeds, lingering questions emphasize the need for clarity regarding the untimely demise of the talented singer.

Despite various speculations circulating, the police emphasize their commitment to relying on verified information rather than rumors.

Providing an update on the autopsy, Benjamin Hundeyin, the state police public relations officer, confirmed to The Punch newspaper on Monday, November 20, that the command had not received the official report.

Hundeyin said; “The autopsy report has not been given to us. Some people have been carrying rumours that it’s ready. It’s one thing for it to be ready, it’s another thing for it to be given to us officially – that we would receive and sign a copy that we have received it. So, we don’t work with rumours, we work with facts.”

Hundeyin further mentioned that the release of the autopsy result can only be requested by the singer’s family lawyer from the pathologists. Alternatively, the result will be independently provided to the police once it is ready.

That boy needs a befitting burial and to go to rest finally. Naija Police, what’s going on? We need an answer here: where is the result? Where is his body?”.
