Nigerian comedian, Bright Okpocha, popularly known as Basketmouth, has officially announced the end of his marriage to his wife and mother of his three kids, Elsie Okpocha.

Basketmouth announced the shocking news in a statement released on his verified Instagram page on Thursday afternoon, December 22.

The entertainer, who got married to his wife in 2010 and shares three children with her, while announcing his marriage crash, wrote: “As much as it pains me to bring my personal life to the public space, this is an unavoidable situation.

After much deliberations, my wife and I have made the difficult decision to end our marriage.

As we move forward separately, we will continue to work together to give our beautiful children all the care, love, guidance and support they need.

We humbly ask that you respect our privacy as we navigate through these times. Thank you.”

Recall, Few months ago, Elsie sparked a debate online with her advice to women against telling their partners everything.

In an Instagram post, Elsie urged women to hold back on spilling every detail to their partners. According to her, their partners do not need to know everything, especially if it is about their friends.

Highlighting the kinds of information she’s advising them to keep from their partners, Elsie told women that their husbands, or boyfriends, don’t need to know the secrets their female friends have confided to them.

Some friends, according to Elsie, like discussing their issues with their friends because it helps them feel better. She, however, clarified that the conversation should end there and that the women need not share with their partners what they have discussed.
