The Inspector General of Police (IGP) Usman Alkali Baba, has ordered the Lagos state Police Commissioner to launch a probe of singer, Portable over his claim that he is a founding father of two cult groups.
This was contained in a statement released by Force Public Relations Officer, Muyiwa Adejobi on Monday, July 18.
Recall, GbExtra Blog reported earlier that the artiste claimed to have founded two notorious cult groups known as One Million Boys and Ajah Boys.
“Open your ears, Ajah boys and one million boys, I am the one that started it. Go and ask Sammy larry,” Portable had said in Yoruba.
The One Million Boys became popular in 2020 when they terrorized residents who were forced to set up vigilante groups to defend their communities.
“Sequel to the trending video of one Habeeb Okikiola aka Portable where he claimed to have formed the One-Million Boys cult group terrorising some parts of Lagos State, the IGP has ordered CP Lagos to investigate the indicting statement and take necessary legal action.
“This directive is premised on the continuous effort of the Nigeria Police Force to fish out pillars and sponsors of cult groups in order to decimate their activities and restore sanity to our society“, the statement read.
