Popular Nigerian singer, Damini Ebunoluwa Ogulu well known as Burnaboy in a recent interview replies his colleague Davido after referring to him as a new cat in the Afrobeats industry.
During an interview at the 80,000-capacity London Olympic Stadium, the home of West Ham FC of England where he later shutdown, Burnaboy said he is happy to be called a new cat because it gives him longevity.
Recall a month ago, a video hits the internet where Davido, the “Unavailable” crooner said that he paved the way for Burna Boy adding that Burna belongs to the category of Asake, Fireboy, Mayorkun, Rema and others tagged as “New Cat”.
In the interview with Apple Music at the London Olympic Stadium, the interviewer asked Burnaboy how he feels about the way people think his movement is recent despite the fact that his first album came out in 2013.
Burnaboy while responding said, he is cool about it as it is absolutely a good thing for him noting that it means he could do so much more and by extension stretches his life span as an artiste that in turn makes him stay longer than other artistes.
Burnaboy said; “I Love being called the New Cat, it’s a good thing, it keeps me young, it means that I could do so much more, and it stretches my life span, I’m living longer than I thought I could.”
