Popular Nigerian Hip Hop artist, Oludipe Oluwasanmi David, well known as Spyro, has reacted to the backlash from Nigerians for his performance at a church Christmas carol.
Bolaji Idowu, a music star and the lead pastor of the Harvesters International Christian Center, was dragged earlier by Nigerians for inviting entertainers for his church carol service.
Spyro firmly stated that he’s just a regular person and should be allowed to take part in church activities.
According to the ‘only fine girl’ crooner, he has been attending Harvesters Church for almost 7 years and serves in two departments.
Regardless of his fame as a Nigerian Afropop musician, he has stated that he is a devout Christian who attends a real church.
In his words, “I just saw myself, and Pastor B has been getting dragged because I did a drama ministration at church. Let me make something very clear!”
“I’ve been a member of Harvesters for well over 7 years, and I serve in two departments. The clip making the rounds on social media is off a drama I took part in at our annual carol service called Fantasia.”
“The Carol was completely free for all. The tickets were free! Because I am a celebrity, doesn’t that make me human?? I can serve God like the rest of you.”
“So please understand that I am human, a Christian, and I serve in a real church!”.
