MAVIN Records newly sign artiste, Boy Spyce in a recent interview revealed how he got signed to one of Nigeria’s biggest record label by Don Jazzy.

The talented singer and songwriter, Boy Spyce talked about how he had always felt that he was going to get signed to a record label when he initially kicked off his career.


He went further to reveal that Don Jazzy had in fact sent a message to him on a very special day which was on Christmas day.

I’ve always had this feeling that I will be signed to Mavins, I don’t know how I don’t know when but I’ve always had the feeling. Jazzy messaged me on a very special day. On Christmas day, 2019, I will never forget.


“Christmas morning, I had no Christmas cloth and I was angry with my parents coz I didn’t understand that there was no money. I just wanted to go out with my friends so I was sad.” He said.

Boy Spyce revealed that Don Jazzy’s message had dropped on the 25th of December 2019 on Instagram via a private message and he initially thought the message was from a parody account till he checked and spotted a verified tick.

“I just got a message from Jazzy. The message didn’t even look like what would come from him. He gave me this hands-raised emoji and I was like ‘wait, it’s all these fake accounts’.

“I checked and saw the verified badge. I screamed I couldn’t believe my eyes. I actually cried that morning and my mom prayed for me. We linked up in the studio, I joined the academy and I started recording. I’m planning on how to take over the world.”


He said he and his family had been very excited about the news and he followed up on the message and he linked up with Don Jazzy in the studio.
