Vice President of Ghana, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has gifted a taxi driver the sum of GH¢20,000 (N1,103,000) as a reward for his honesty.
The driver identified as Kwesi Ackon returned GH¢8,400 (N440,000) to a passenger who forgot the cash in his taxi.
A video which has gone viral on social media captures the moment Kwesi handed the cash to the rightful owner.
According to Fourth Estate, following Ackon’s commendable act, the vice-president celebrated the cabman by giving him money after Ghanaian journalist Manasseh Azure Awuni who originally shared the post urged people to do more.
In addition to the GH¢20,000 (N1,103,000), Kwesi also received GH¢2,500 (N138,000) from two other unnamed donors, bringing the amount to GH¢22,500 (N1.2 million).
