Popular Nigerian activist VeryDarkMan in a new video goes hard on the organizers of the prestigious Grammy Award after Nigerian artistes most especially Davido and Burna Boy won no award.
It was poor outing for Nigerian artistes as none of them bagged an award at the 66th Grammy Awards ceremony held at the Peacock Theatre in Los Angeles., United States on Sunday.
This development sparked outrage from netizens including activist Very Dark Black who vigorously tackled Grammys for not giving Davido who has 3 nominations and Burna Boy who has four nominations any award.
According to VeryDarkBlackMan, the Organizers of the Grammy are looking for a way to bring down Afrobeats because the music genre is now global.
He added that they intentionally did not give Davido mainly because they wants him to keep coming back so that he will always be in an anticipated state every year.
He noted that either Davido or Burna Boy should have won the Global music album category of the Grammy Award.
He added that Davido and Burna Boy albums known as “Timeless” and “I Told Them” reached more views and even cut across nations than that of “This Moment” by Shakti.
Speaking further, he added that Davido and Burna Boy are better than Tyla when it comes to the Best African Music Performance as he asserts that he doesn’t even know the South-African singer before even he heard the song in the past.
VDM stated that he thought the Water song belonged to Nigerian singer, Ayra Starr. He further berated the Grammy Award for playing nostalgic bop Water by Fela Kuti when presenting Tyla with the award of Best African Music Performance for her hit song “Water.”
