#EndSARS: Reactions as Portable Omolaolmi shares throwback video of him protesting

A throwback video of Nigerian singer, Habeeb Okikiola popularly known as Portable, demonstrating during the #EndSARS protest two years ago has surfaced online.

The Zazuu star had taken to the streets with thousands of Nigerians to protest against police har@ssment and brut@lity.

The old clip which was shared via Instastory on October 20, 2022, the day of the EndSARS and Lekki sh00ting memorial, sparked reactions from Nigerians who found it interesting because at the time he was still an up-and-coming artiste.

Portable talked about how authorities need to stop stereotyping the youths as he stated that he is not into internet fr@ud (Yahoo Yahoo).

The musician held a placard which read; ‘End SARS’, ‘End Police Brut@lity’, ‘Soro Were’, ‘Soro Soke.’

Meanwhile, Nigerian youths on Thursday, assembled at the Lekki Tollgate in Lagos State to mark the second anniversary of the #EndSARS protests and #LekkiMassacre.

Ace rapper, Falz and comic actor, Mr Macaroni joined the memorial procession which started around 9 am on October 20, 2022.

The EndSARS protests which shook the world in October 2020, saw thousands of young Nigerians marching through major cities in Nigeria over two weeks.

Youths were calling for an end to years of police brut@lity, assault and extrajudicial k#llings.

At the procession on Thursday, coffins were carried to honour the memory of the unarmed protesters who were shot and k#lled by security personnel on October 20, 2020, at the Lekki Tollgate when they were singing the national anthem and waving Nigeria’s flag.

Videos which surfaced online shows the public figures and a large crowd marching through the streets of Lagos despite heavy police presence.
