Popular comedian Woli Arole has announced on his social media that he would be leading a 5000-hour pray-a-thon to set a new world record for the longest prayer session.
He announced this via Instagram on Sunday, tagging the Guinness World Records, Lagos-based Pastor Poju Oyemade, colleague Woli Agba and others. Sharing a design of his 5000 hour pray-a-thon, he wrote, “PRAY – A – THON…….5000 hours……It is doable….Anticipate…..Guinness Book of Record”.
The comedian cum actor’s announcement comes amid the wave of attempts to set world records that have overtaken the country.
Damilola Adeparusi, a chef in Ekiti State, is currently on a mission to set a new world record after Hilda Baci’s yet-to-be-confirmed 100 hours of cooking in Lagos last month.
Also an Ibadan chef reportedly announced to start his own record-breaking hours of cooking. Rumor has it that an Ebonyi-based baker who plans to bake for 140 hours.
However, Woli Arole said on Monday that the pray-a-thon he plans to hold is “beyond setting a record.” The comic star called it a revival, adding that the date and venue for the prayer meeting are set.
He wrote, “This is to stir the heart of MEN to PRAY… We PRAY until something Happens. We are SET!!”.
