Nigerian Afrobeat singer, Damini Ebunoluwa Ogulu, popularly known as Burna Boy has received congratulatory messages as he set to perform at the 2024 Grammy awards, coming up on February 4.
Burna Boy, known for his melodious voice and lyrics in Nigerian Rapper, Phyno hit song, ‘Do I’ remix, will be the first African artiste to perform at the 66th American recording academy awards.
The hit maker will be performing with American singers, Travis Scott, Luke Combs, Billie Eilish, Dua Lipa and Olivia Rodrigo.
Burna, who has been nominated for 10 Grammy awards, has won three years ago in the Best Global music album, for ‘Twice as Tall’.
This year, Burna Boy is nominated for four Grammy categories – best global music album (I Told Them), best African music performance (‘City Boys’), best global music performance (‘Alone’), and best melodic rap performance (‘Sittin’ on Top of the World’).
The ‘African giant’ crooner was announced on Monday morning, January 22 by the recording academy via their X (Twitter) page.
