Nigeria missed out on the qualifying spot after the team played a 1-1 draw with the black stars of Ghana. Per Away goals rule, Ghana’s single goal scored at the M.K.O Abiola Stadium was enough to secure their place in Qatar.

Many Nigerians were displeased with result but for Mary, there are more pressing issues to be concerned with in Nigeria at this time.

Her post reads: “Thank God we didn’t qualify for the world cup. It would have been a distraction. We need to focus on the real problems in Nigeria and pressure the Government to do something.

An att@ck on a train! An attack at the airport! The insecurity in Nigeria is alarming! No more unnecessary distractions!!! This needs everyone’s attention.”
