Superstar Nigerian songstress, Temilade Openiyi, better known as Tems made Africa super proud on Sunday, 5th February 2023 as she became the first Nigerian female artiste to win a Grammy award.
Tems bagged the ‘Best Melodic Rap Performance’ courtesy of the American rapper, Future’s song ‘Wait For U’ which he featured her and Drake in at the 65th Grammy Awards.
Be it as it may, congratulations began pouring in from the event as several international music stars hailed her for the win.
A video however captures the moment DJ Khaled and his wife both congratulated Tems for the rare and prestigious win.
The music boss however got tongues wagging over his appeal to Tems before giving her a hug.
Before sharing a hug with Tems, DJ Khaled said: “Can I hug you?”.

The humble appeal however sparked reactions from netizens as they were wowed by the fact that he had to ask for permission.
