Singer, Tems becomes the first female Nigerian artist to hit number one on Hot 100 chart

Nigeria’s Sensational singer and songwriter, Tems has made history as the first female singer to reach number one on the Hot 100.

American Twitter music chart, Chart Data took to Twitter to share the good news of the singer’s win.

Tems was crowned the only female Nigerian artist in history to reach number 1 on the Hot 100. She joins Wizkid who achieved the great feat in 2016.

“@temsbaby and @wizkidayo are the only Nigerian artists in history to reach #1 on the Hot 100. @temsbaby becomes the first Nigerian artist in history to debut at #1 on the Hot 100”.

GbExtra Media recalls Tems had been unveiled as one of the featured artists in American rapper, Futures’ new album.

Future took to his Instagram page to share a list of the artists on his album and the list was quite impressive with Tems being the only African on it.

With American top singers like Drake, Kanye West, Young Thug, Kodak Black, and many more, Tems no doubt made us proud by being on the album.
