The Nigerian Police Force National Cybercrime Center (NPF-NCCC) has confirmed the arrest of Crypto king Linus Williams, aka Blord.
The announcement was made by the Force Public Relations Officer (PRO), ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, via the official X page.
In the official statement, Blord was arrested for the allegations including cryptocurrency fraud, aiding internet fraud, computer-related fraud, terrorism funding, and non-compliance with regulatory frameworks.
Recall that the fintech CEO got detained in the police custody after social media activist, VeryDarkMan wrote a petition against him, leading to his arrest.
The statement reads, “ALLEGED FRAUD, VIOLATION OF CBN ACT, POLICE INTERROGATES CEO BLORD GROUP OF COMPANIES, LINUS WILLIAMS”.
“The FCID (NPF-NCCC) is currently investigating complaints lodged against BLORD GROUP, BLORD REAL ESTATE LTD, BLORD JETPAYE LIMITED, and BILLPOINT TECHNOLOGY.”
“These offences include allegations bothering on cryptocurrency fraud, aiding internet fraud, computer-related fraud, terrorism funding, and non-compliance with regulatory frameworks.”
“We will do due diligence in our investigations. Our cyber space in Nigeria must be safe and secured by all means. We are committed to achieving that.”
