Talented Nigerian vocalist, Victory Gbakara emerges as the winner of the Season 8 edition of the music talent hunt franchise, Nigerian Idol.
Victory became victorious on the show that premiered in April and ran for ten weeks, till July 16; hosted by IK Osakioduwa, with live shows airing during this period.
The announcement of his win was made during the Sunday episode of the show which was concluded with a captivating performance of Wizkid‘s “Blessed” by Gbakara.
As the winner of the 2023 Nigerian Idol, Victor will be awarded a prestigious prize worth N100 million, with N35 million in cash. Furthermore, Gbakara’s triumph includes a music record contract and an opportunity to shoot a music video.
A highlight of the show’s finale includes a captivating group performances by all the contestants, alongside the judges.
Leading the chorus of the performance were D’banj, Simi, and Obi Asika, who performed “Hall of Fame,” a song by the Star of Copenhagen, Switzerland released in 2014.
It is worth noting that the first season of the Nigerian Idol show aired in the year 2010, which coincided with the 50th anniversary of the country.
