Tell us about yourself and when you started music?
My name is Agbaje Sodiq Ayomide popularly known as “Abayok“, I was born and raised in Gbongan, Osun State. I started the music hustle at the year of 2014 when I was in SSS1.

How did you come about your state name “Abayok”?
My mum gave the name to me when 2go was everywhere, I wanted to create 2go account she just came up with the name Abayok. Abayok is from my name Ayomide ABAYOMI.

What inspired you to do music?
There was some of my friends that Inspired me during our JSS days but I don’t think I have this talent then, until I met some of new set friends at SSS class and I was like I can do this thing, during break time our we will freestyle to make people enjoy and dance. Some of my friends that inspired me then are BakwiseX2, Austin Mayor, Yinusent, Kab, Xavi.

When did you release your debut record and what inspired the song?
My first track was named (Blessing) featuring a friend of mine who’s a rapper, BakwiseX2 was released in 2016 during my final year at my secondary school.

The inspiration? Well, I can say my friend Bakwise made me to do the song. Because he brought up his verse first when we were just playing during school break time and I was like I can do something on this beat too and I came up with a chorus and we made the magic.

Your challenges in the music industry?
Well I don’t really have challenges yet, because I just put this music hustling on God. But sometimes challenge I mostly have is money to promote my songs but all is well.

Your new single “Abrakadabra (Miracle)” which is still receiving massive acceptance among music lovers. What is the inspiration behind the song and its title?
Well I can say the song was composed like a magic because I just didn’t think once that I can sing a chorus, hook like that. The song is a prayer track and you know, prayer song mostly trending now that’s the reason why I came up with the title Abracadabra which is Magic, Miracle.
